I was in Samar Island Nature Park, Paranas, Samar last week. I saw a Bulbul feeding in a fruiting tree in the forest. I discounted it as a common Philippine Bulbul, but now see that the head is brown and not gray-brown, it lacks tail shafts in the crown, and there is a yellow patch in the leading edge of the wing. Is this a Philippine Bulbul or another kind of Bulbul? ID please.

Ramon, we can see a distinct yellow gape line suggesting that this is a juvenile bird. These lack the grey in the crown and also have rather chocolate secondaries. I haven't noticed a yellow pectoral? tuft before but the breast markings suggest it is a Philippine Bulbul.

Thank you, Des, that explains it -- it's an immature PB. The yellow tuft in the leading edge of the wing is unusual though. I checked all my photos of other PBs, and they have no yellow there.
