Coron is a priority in my wish list of places to go birding. I have this great opportunity to visit Coron Palawan this 2012 summer vacation. The sharing was a bit late, these shots was taken April 21-25 2012, thanks to sir Ely for the contact of the guide and location, this also gave me opportunity to shot with fellow Birdnuts Doc Boymac and maam Mares. All birds are lifer to me all shots with D90+600mm on a Feisol+Benro GH2 remote shutter and MLU plus 1.4tc unless mentioned without one. Oriental dwarf KF 1/25s f5.6 ISO500 1/4s f5.6 ISO800 1/8s f8 ISO200 This one was photographed 20kms away from the town proper in Busuanga resort paradise, I already packed up and ready to call it a day when this fella shows up, I need to quickly set up and take the shot. Hi Steve, among all shots I have only one for this bird, this is the very first one that I took upon arriving on site, lighting still very low, It flew away on my 1st shot. Do you have other opinion on the ID?

Sorry for the mistake, I stand corrected Last Photo was Paradise Blue Flycatcher Thanks for the reminder. Certainly no apologies here. It is a rather common mistake. It is actually the only confusion species with the Hypothymis, and just something to be remembered when in the Palawan EBA, but only there. By the way, the bird is an adult male. A minutium - called Blue Paradise Flycatcher rather than the other way around.

All the birds that you have seen and photograph are the very same birds that I have seen, photograph, and shared in this Forum. I have been in Coron more times than any other birding places for the simple reason that there are more interesting birds in that place. I am glad that Boy Mac, Marester, Bob Kauffman, Cynthia, Bobby Kintanar, Bong, Alex Tiongco, Tere, Ipat, Adrian, Trinket, yourself, and others have found time to go there and see for yourselves what I have been saying all along. I would also like to point out that our guide Erwin is very familiar with the birds of Coron and can find them just by listening to its call. Congratulations Lawrence on your fine collection of the birds of Coron.

I agree with you sir, Erwin is a very knowledgeable guide, I met his kid Don2 who joined me as a back up to his dad and Im impressed he can be a good guide too later on.. As you've said the place has a lot of interesting birds to see.
