Hello fellow birdnuts! It's been a while since I had a lifer, but I did manage to get a new one during a 3-hour "escape" to Bilar Bohol, during our annual company outing. It's the rufus-phase Philippine Frogmouth captured full frame (Batracostomus septimus): Exposure: 1/50 Sec; Aperture f/5.6; FL 400 mm; ISO 200; +1/3 EV And since I'm at it, I'd also like to share another lifer from Negros that I captured some months back - the Spotted Wood Kingfisher (Actenoides lindsayi): Exposure: 0.3 Sec; Aperture f/5.6; FL 400 mm; ISO 1600; +1/3 EV Both were shot with the EOS 60D and the EF 400mm f/5.6L Combo using a wired remote trigger and MLU on a tripod. I hope you like them :-) Bobby K.

Thank you Ms. Idol, Ka Ambassador Ely, Des, and Michael. I'm glad you like them. Idol, if ever I have a new lifer, I will post again, but I am always lurking around here admiring all the new bird photos being posted by our elite members. :-)

Thanks Ramon - as we get more and more lifers, the newer ones become harder and harder to come by. That's how it is with birding, so good luck to you on your future birding sorties! :-)

Beautiful shots of the frogmouth and spotted wood kingfisher. These could be my lifers of the year!

Thanks Tirso - if you have time, that frogmouth will be in Bilar for the next two weeks if it is not disturbed. There is also a nesting silvery kingfisher there, as well as a nesting Trogon, but you have to be at their location early in the morning. :-)
