Wow, great photos, Neil! Did the SKF swallow the frog whole? Amazing.
I have yet to see a SKF.

Neil, Good one! Can anybody identify the frog? Steve, I believe that's a dead frog. Also called a goner.

A magnificent capture of a Kingfisher with a frog. I have read that a frog is part of a Kingfishers' diet but this is the first time I saw it in a picture. Just like eating a lizard I presume he would swallow the frog, head first. It certainly would be a full meal for this small kingfisher. I noticed that you were able to increase your ISO in your second picture but with your setting at aperture priority it still came out on the dark side. Had it been on manual mode you would have a brighter picture. It must have been quite a thrill for you. Well done Neil & Mabuhay.

Wow, great photos, Neil! Did the SKF swallow the frog whole? Amazing. I have yet to see a SKF. I was not able to observe how it dealt with it meal but I'm sure it was a very filling one! I've been seeing it a lot more frequently lately; I guess it has become kind of used to being photographed.

Also, you are right about the camera settings; still have a lot to learn!

Wow another special treat for you. Yehey !!!
We went all the way to Davao to hopefully take pictures of the SKF when the Philippine bird festival was held there. The SKF showed up but it stayed in a very dark area and then it left. I wasn't able to take even a single shot of it. Hmmmm super blurred I think - HEHEHEHE.
It would be such a treat to put a photo of a SKF in my gallery one of these days.
