Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker. I took this photo very near where we parked the cars, and the bird was perched on a small tree inside a private house & garden. Since I had a Canon EOS 7D 400mm without a tripod, I used the grill gate of the house to steady the camera. 1/790sec, 5.7, iso-500, 400mm, AdobePhoto Ashy Minivet...It was first mentioned by the group that this was a Pied Triller. Ramon identified it as Ashy Minivet. Ashy Minivet feasting on an insect.

Wow looks like you got to take a photo of an ashy minivet at a closer than usual distance. I normally see these birds on top of a very tall tree. It's great that you guys were really lucky during this sortie
