Got freed up a bit from work, a little relaxation on a weekend and birding is on top of my list. This is in Lagos Nigeria just inside the compound of our worksite. Theres a flowering tree and these little frisky birds are pleasure to watch. Just inside your work compound you say? Wow, that is the best kind of birding. The shots are all great and yes, the Nikor 80-400 can do BIFs. ;D

I was so happy when my 80-400mm was able to lock (yes I know it's not dead spot focus ;D) on the sunbird on flight and Im happy with it ;D

Beautiful captures, Lawrence. I hope to photograph African birds someday. Hi Ramon thank you, Nigeria has a huge list of Birds and my collection were just a mere 1% maybe . The challenge here is security, you cant just wander around in places with out the risk of being held up or worst kidnapped. Safari in Kenya is more interesting though

Beautiful set Lawrence! You always fill my daily quota of foreign birds Thanks Edu, the clearing (cutting) operations of bush and trees around here reduces the birds in my area, but they came back lately to this flowering tree. Im even surprised to see the African yellow white-eye for the fist time.

Very nice harvest, Lawrence. The birds look very similar to our Olive-backed Sunbird and Yellowish White-eye.

Very nice harvest, Lawrence. The birds look very similar to our Olive-backed Sunbird and Yellowish White-eye. Thanks Mark. Yes, I made mistake on ID before, the female really similar to our OBS. The 1st was a male on transition to breeding plumage. The African yellow white-eye is also similar to our lowland white eye, and it was a surprise to me, its my 1st photograph of that bird in our area here
