These are excellent pictures. Being able to get close to the subject makes a whole world of difference. I wish we can always do that. Well done Mick & Mabuhay.

Thanks Ely, there are some that come close or allow you to get close as well as the fact that there are also hides at the London Wetlands Centre which help also in getting reasonable detail at closer quarters. Mind you a lens like your mighty 800 mm would gather many more 'close-ups'.

Great to see pictures of Common Pochard. It will surely be helpful if one decides to accidentally show up here in the Phils. The shape of the head is different from the Tufted. Thanks Mick.
