What a spectacular and unusual bird! Just like the Black-and-Red Broadbills of Vietnam that I just posted today. Congrats, Nelson!

Congratulations Nelson for this beautiful capture of the Visayan Wattled Broadbill. If foreigners can safely come and we have the facilities for them to see birds like this, we will have a tourist boom. Well done & Mabuhay.

A big congrats on bagging this beautiful bird, Nelson. I can see the shooting condition was a nightmare. You did well.

The bird is so colorful! Would have been nicer if you were able to capture it from close range. I can imagine though that the sorroundings are dark and difficult to shoot. Congratulations!

I have briefly encountered this bird three times and have come away with poor photos. It is not the easiest bird to photograph.
I would have been so excited to see it in this great perch. It seems to be decent enough light at ISO 1600 1/40 f5.6.
What a great bird and encounter. Thanks for posting this interesting bird and congrats on the capture.

Thanks a lot guys for the appreciation! I just did my best in capturing this "hard-to-photograph" bird that always stay at the canopy. Was just fortunate to take the shot at eye-level. Birding at the ridges is sometimes rewarding like this
