Finally, i was able to squeeze some time processing pics from previous trips. Let me start with a picture of this Philippine Frogmouth from Mt. Kitanglad, Bukidnon. This is probably the most photographed frogmouth in the Philippines, and can be found just a few meters from the camp in Mt. Kitanglad. Philippine Froggie, Batrachastomus septimus Almost full frame, Panasonic G3 with Olympus 14-42 mm MSC II lens, Swarovski 80mm HD, 25-50x eyepiece, Swarovski Universal Camera Adapter.

There is something about the Frogmouth that makes it look good. Maybe it is the built in wide grin that it has just like a duck have a smiling beak. Nice capture of the bird at night. Well done Adri & Mabuhay.

Nice capture Adri. Are you sure you captured a Frogmouth and not a feathered Frog? Hahaha.... Those eyes are awesome.

Great image ... looks like some kind of alien from a sci-fi movie.

adri, i'm just curious. what do you use to light the bird so as to get a good detail of the bird and still not to "blind" it? and for how long? thanks!

Thanks Mick and Mark. I used a LED flashlight to illuminate the bird. I spotlighted it not for too long as it will cause damage to the bird's eyes. And a continuous spotlight is better than very short intermittent ones so the eyes can adjust.

Great photo with a spotting scope at night!
It takes skill to use a spotting scope in darkness. Nice one.
