The beak of the Goosanders is similar to the Cormorant and it looks like it ate a snail. The Robin must have been less than 5 meters from you. Beautiful captures with a 400 mm. Well done Mick & Mabuhay.

Hi Ely. Yes the beak is like a Cormorant. The one in the pic is actually swallowing a fish.which it had just caught ... I guess the hooked tip to the beak is to grip the fish initially before surfacing to turn and swallow it.
