Paid a quick visit to my nearest reserve the other day (about 20 mins. drive) and took a few shots of this Great Tit which is I suppose a little like an Elegant Tit but without the brighter yellow of the ET. Canon 7D, 400 5.6L with tripod support. Sevenoaks Reserve, Kent, UK. 20120216-IMG_2720 Great Tit by Mick Harris, on Flickr

Nice capture, Mick. I notice it is banded.

I like the Elegant Tit because of the black and yellow combination. This Great Tit that you photograph is even more colorful because of the design of the blue feathers that run from his head to the rump. Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird. Well done Mick & Mabuhay.

Thanks Ramon and Ely. Quite a lot of ringing/banding goes on at this reserve and many species can be seen wearing them ... to be honest for photos I prefer not to see rings on the birds ... however they are of course valuable for research purposes and increased knowledge. The blue irridescence on the Great Tit is not usually noticable in the field Ely.
Happy birding,
Mick
