This bird jump out right in front of me and i almost dropped my camera in disbelief. It was so close that i had to lean back in order to get my lens' minimum focusing distance. This was taken at fullframe, no cropping, just resized. Buff-banded Rail Gallirallus philippensis 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (400mm), f7.1, 1/200, ISO200, handheld (19APR08, 9am) Luckily, I got the chance to zoom out to 105mm (210mm equiv) to get the legs of this bird. Buff-banded Rail Gallirallus philippensis 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (210mm), f7.1, 1/200, ISO200, handheld (19APR08, 9am) Cropped and resized. Here's is a 100% crop of another image.. (the complete image actually did not show the legs). 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (210mm), f7.1, 1/200, ISO200, handheld (19APR08, 9am)

Wow!! Mando!! awesome shots!! looks like you have an inborn bird magnet quality to get these captures!! And in my favorite birding place too. I've never seen this bird there for the past, almost, 2 years I've birded that spot. This is one of the most detailed pics of this species I've seen. Congratulations on capturing such a beauty!!
