Traveling all over to look for birds I am always hoping to be able to show the birds in each unique setting. I am not always able to show the environment because of where the birds perch or the limited time to get the shot. I really got excited when I saw this Great Egret in Batanes fishing on the rocks. I could see the waves coming and I knew I would get something interesting. This is the type of photo I wanted for Batanes, a bird fishing and big waves and rocks. It was super nice of this Egret to model for me. GREAT EGRETEgretta alba1/640 f7.1 1/400 f7.1

Double Wow, Tonji! What timing and clarity in the first shot! Looks like the Great Egret is doing a ballet pirouette.

Thanks guys. I first saw a scene like this in Palawan, with an Eastern Reef Egret in dark phase. I really wanted to get the shot but the waves were too big for us to go to the island. When I saw this scene I was surprised it was a Great Egret dancing on the rocks and not an Eastern Reef.

Great shot of the Egret Tonji, love how the waves freeze and the bird is like surfing the waves. Congrats

It's more fun where the water rocks! Those are fantastic shots, Tonj. I can hear the water splash. It's like I am there watching the scene not minding the spray of water. telyd
