We saw this bird right outside our window. Crazy. We have seen this bird in the mountains in Batangas and Mt. Makiling, in UP Diliman, and La Mesa Ecopark but the most unusual sighting has got to be this bird just outside our bedroom window... I posted it in facebook. But forgot to post it here. RED-BELLIED PITTAPitta erythrogaster1/100 f9

Wow, that's incredible, Tonji! I have never seen a RBP. Where do you live that you have RBPs outside your window?

Ramon I live in Alabang. The window is right beside our shoulders. We have seen some nice birds here in our garden. But usually just garden birds. This was unusual. Sylvia saw this bird on our neighbor's roof and we both rushed to get our rigs.

Great shot, Tonji. Birds are really looking for you, they even knock at your window!

Very nice, Tonji. Oh how we wish our subjects are just outside our windows so we won't have to go far.

It looks like it is a young bird. All you had to do was open your window with some worms and it might even eat out of your hand. What a wonderful occurence and a close up shot. Well done Tonji & Mabuhay.

Thanks guys. It was a lucky day. We have seen more than 60 species of birds in our village and have photographed 59 species so far. You never will know what you will see when you look.
Some of the species we have seen in Alabang: Grass Owl, Chinese Pond Heron in breeding plumage, Slaty-breasted Rail, Osprey, male Narcissus Flycatcher...
Last weekend I was biking around the village and I saw a big flock of 75 dove species flying overhead. Too bad I did not have my bins and I could not ID the birds. But I have never seen so many doves in one time.
You never will know what you will see....

A Red bellied pitta. Time for another exhibit, Tonj and Syl. These beautiful birds will raise the level of awareness and people will get to know what and why they need to protect our natural treasures. Random out some with stories to tell. If you'll excuse me, I need to go to my garden to check if there is a weird occurence amongst my OBS lyd
