Neon I think a bunch of pictures have not been included in the database. Including some we have posted: 1. Red Footed Booby 2. Christmas Frigatebird 3. Greater Frigatebird 4. Eurasian Curlew 5. Sooty Tern Birds we have not posted but have pics if you want: 1. Gadwall 2. Common Snipe 3. Sharp tailed Sandpiper 4. Red-necked Phalarope- kinda corny pics Plus lot of posts of everyone of Ferruginus Flycatcher White Wagtail Thats 11 just from a quick scan. There might be a few more. I am sure the others also have a bunch. I remember some Lesser plovers from that trip in 2008. We identified these birds in Negros as Lesser Sand Plovers. tonjiandsylviasbirdlist.smugmug.com/List/charadriidae/Lesser-Sand-Plover/19230156_CH4xb6#!i=1500223738&k=pd8XCD2 We may have made an error. What do you think?

Thanks Tonji for reminding me, I was telling myself to update the database for a longtime now and still could not find time to do it. Hope I find the will to do it within the week. I'm still confused and could not decide which one is one right now and could have labeled my plovers wrongly as well. Reading on the descriptions of Lesser and Greater, what I posted above is actually a Greater all along. Hehehe I'll post here what I think are the 3 plovers that are always mixed up. Greater - Yellowish legs, bigger bill Lesser - Greenish gray legs, smaller bill Kentish - with white collar.

Yup looks like the first pic has a big bill.
But I do remember I was with you when you took that pic. There were some Lesser Sand Plovers. Tim F. pointed them out.
Nice side by side comparo Neon.

Hi Neon, I agree, the first photo is GSP considering the profile of the head and bill.
Photo #3 however looks Kentish considering the profile of the bill and the white collar. I missed the collar in my old plover posting as pointed out by Des.

They can be confusing and I am glad that you pointed out the differences. I hope I will know how to identify them if and when I am able to photograph them. Well done Neon & Mabuhay.
