After drooling for a good 2 weeks on some awesome captures of the White wagtail, finally got my chance this morning, to get the withdrawal symptoms cured. It was really a long shot and shooting through the cyclone fence made the shots soft. I arrived at around 8:30 am and met Mel T. What I thought was a yellow wagtail because of the yellowish tinge on its head was actually the immature which was confirmed by Mel. The male and female arrived soon after at around 9am, just after Mel left me alone and had come and gone till around 11am when all my CF cards were full. I was suppose to go somewhere else but the temptation to PP the shots was overwhelming that's why I ended up going home. Here is a very long shot and heavily cropped capture of the immature showing the yellowish head. 5DM2 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f4, 1/400 sec, ISO 500, Tv priority, -2/3 EV, Tripod-Gimbal support, under available light. More to follow as I pp more upon download. ;D

Thanks Steve and Ka Rene, From the looks of it, there are four different birds. Two with yellowish head, here is the other one, are these different subspecies?

Yeah, nakakagimbal! The first one is like from an artist's brush. The second is not a wagging wagtail. The third is the wagging wagtail and the last the wandering, wondering wagtail. There have been many posts of this celebrity migrant. The targets and the arrows may be the same, but the injuns have different stretches. all nice. telyds

Welcome back Neon.
Great to see they waited for you.
The last photo seems to show an eye stripe. Is it possibly an ocularis or lugens?

I can't post my reply to you on this thread so I am using the quote to see if my message can be posted. I know how elated you must be feeling at the moment having that desire to see White Wagtail and finally seeing it on your CF card. Well done Neon & Mabuhay. It looks like Candaba will not be accessible until next January. It is still raining even its already December. With the approach of another typhoon we can expect more rains to come.
