Got a chance to get my gears out of the dry cabinet and was really worried that the gears in my lens are not stuck from being stored for some time. Been busy setting up a new apiary up in the mountains. Anyway, had to bring our daughter to Miriam to take an entrance exam and while waiting for her to finish, went to UP and met up with Bob&Cynthia, later on Bong also arrived. We were hoping to get to see the Narcissus FC but it was a no show. Since I had not seen a bird in my VF for a while everything was game. Really struggled with exposures, WB, etc., good that there is PS to adjust things when things go wrong. Would really opted to get things right while shooting as the quality when adjusted during PP is different. Coppersmith Barbet ( Megalaima haemacephala) All shots were captured with 5DM2 + 600 mm f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC (@1200mm), Tripod-Gimbal support, under available light. f5.0 (f10), 1/320 sec, ISO 1000, manual exposure f 4.5, 1/80 sec f 4.5, 1/100 sec

When you can see the tail, the bird is not facing you. When he is facing you, you cannot see the chest, and finally when you see the chest, you cannot see the tail. Nevertheless the pictures are excellent. It just means one thing. You have to go back and take a complete picture of the bird and as good as this series. Is the bird about to build a nest?
Well done Neon & Mabuhay.

Well done Neon & Mabuhay. Hi Ely, This is what frustrates me as well and wished that my cam body shoots 10 fps and not a measly 3.9fps, I would have gotten better poses when the bird was going over and around the branch. My 40D shoots a faster rate than the 5D maybe I'll start using it again. Anyway, here's the best I could produce and still managed to clipped the tail. Same shooting details as above @ 1/160 sec.
