Photographed the PHILIPPINE HAWK-EAGLE at the Subic Rainforest, where Rey, Val, Rocky and I birded yesterday. We were looking for the fruiting Balete trees discovered by Ramon. We saw them, but the fruits were gone and so were the birds. Luckily, we saw this guy in the vicinity. This Philippine endemic is still immature. Two large-billed crows were chasing it before it perched on the branch. Canon 7D+400mm f/5.6... 1/200sec, f/5.6, iso320, AV priority, +1 Exposure Bias, handheld.

Great shot of an impressive bird. It's certainly whetted my appetite for my planned visit to the area in December.

Great shot of a majestic raptor, Alain! I have never seen one in the wild. How close were you with a 400mm?

Thanks, Rey, Edu, Mick and Ramon!
The crows flew again, Edu, I wasn't able to capture them in one frame. Hope to bird with your here on December, Mick.
Ramon, the tree was about thrice the height of the first Balete tree, and I was on the other side of the road. That's how high it was perched, and how far I and Rey were.

Alain, you must have cropped a lot of the photo, and yet it is very clear and detailed. Nice shot!
