One of the old pics I reprocessed for the April 19 slide show is that of my most wanted Candaba bird. I never had the privilege of nailing it with a clean environment/background because it's very shy. I believe the best way to get it is by using a floating hide. Note that the photo was taken April 25, 2006, so these guys should now be sporting their long tails. Come on, JP..... go and bag this one! This photo was from quite afar - 350D + Sigmonster + 2x TC, 1600 mm, f/18, ISO 400, 1/125 sec, 475B/3421 support.

yes sir! after seeing a pair of thse on my last candaba trip, i was really inspired to get close to them. i think its doable! especially with the water level going down at the main pond
