Hello, I'm from the US currently living on Guam, but I will be visiting the Philippines very soon (probably a few times over the next couple of years while I am here). My husband is actually the photographer, but I am the one who is more into birds, so we work as a team.
For our first trip we only have a few days and we are just visiting Manila - so if anybody has any birding tips for that area I would like to hear them! We were planning on visiting Corregidor island, the La Mesa Eco Park and the UPD campus. I don't really know where else we're going - didn't want to plan anything too ambitious without knowing what transport and everything is like there.
I have been browsing this forum for a while now and I have found it very helpful!
Thanks, ~Gloria Pike~

hello, gloria! i think most of the photographers here are also members of the wild bird club of the philippines. the club organizes guided trips, which you can visit. here's the link: www.birdwatch.ph/index.html. if you're already here in manila, you could join the guided trip on sunday in la mesa ecopark. you could ride a taxi for convenience and just say to the driver the name of the park. since it's a sunday, traffic would be very light going to that direction and the taxi fare would be reasonable. if you're planning to go to UP, you can ride a UP jeepney from SM north EDSA. the fare is just P10. hope this little info would help you. mark argallon

Oh wow! Yes, we might just join that bird outing - any idea on the time/meeting place details? I have never been able to get birdwatch.ph to load.
Thank you!
EDIT - I found the info on their Facebook page!
