Was lucky to have seen and photographed this Common Emerald Dove at the Eco Park last month. Sad to say that I heard the bad news that this nesting wasn't successful for one reason or another. Hope we can figure out something to protect the nesting site of birds that we discover in the future. Emerald Dove ( Chalcophaps indica) female - September 13, 2011, LMEP, Quezon City. 5DM2 + 600 f4 + 2x kenko TC, f9, 0.6 sec, ISO 1000, Tripod-gimbal support, MLU / Live view, remote shutter cable, under natural light.

It is indeed sad and tragic. Might be the same story for the hatchlings of the Ashy-Ground Thrush.
Your picture is super sharp, it looks like the bird has dandruff. LOL. There are love birds, angry birds, but you are more known as big bird. Well done Neon & Mabuhay.
