I have not birded for a few months now, so I went to the lagoon to shake off the rust. It was cloudy and there were not much birds. The terns were there for BIF practice shooting, though. The tern looks like it had applied red lipstick on its beak Could this be the start of its breeding plummage? The kingfisher looks like it can't find any food due to the bad weather. Poor guy. At least you still got these birds to shake off the rust. Cheers to you William & Mabuhay.

The Tern is a Whiskered Tern, coming out of breeding plumage (not going in Ely). I love how the nostrils have lined up so you can see daylight through them!
