Yey! My first posting of bird images. After a few weekends of stalking, I was rewarded with decent captures of the 3 black-naped orioles at UPD. Here is the young black naped-oriole. It was a struggle getting a proper exposure even at such a bright day 'cause this young bird prefers hidden in the shadows. I had to motionlessly wait until it went to a well lighted branch to get this. Still I had to post process the exposure to brighten the subject. Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis) Immature 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (400mm), f7.1, 1/200 sec, ISO 640, Hand held, Raw capture Here are pictures of the mom and dad (dunno which is which) taken earlier in the month of march. These birds suddenly perched on the tree where I was hiding for smokes (yep, smoking is banned in UPD) and they started "yelling" at me. I was scared stiff to move, that i forgot to set to RAW capture and smaller aperture. I did not even notice the small branches sticking into my subjects until later. (rookie mistakes...argghhh) Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis) 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (400mm), f4, 1/400 sec, ISO 400, Hand held Black-naped Oriole (Oriolus chinensis) 30D + 80-200mm f2.8L + 2x Kenko TC (400mm), f4, 1/400 sec, ISO 400, Hand held
thanks for looking.... -mando

Woooo Hoooooo Mando, those are very nice shots !!!! You must have been near these birds since you only had a 200mm + 2x TC. I like the middle image the most - that particular image was excellently taken if you ask me

thanks for your kind comments guys. yep, the one in the middle is also my fav. i just got lucky twice, the adults landed on a tree about 5meters away from me. and as for the juvenile, it was in hiding, i just had to wait it out till it showed itself.
