Nice capture on a nice BG. Good handling of the 40D, it usually loses focus on this kind of BG.

Nice shot Bong!! you were able to still get a sharp focus on the duck considering the terrestrial BG. Good work on maintaining the duck centered and focused while panning.

Thank you Sirs Romy, Rey, Neon2rosell and Balarila.
I was also surprised by the performan ce of the 40D on this shot. there are even a series of shots of ducks taking off and landing which I captured with this body.
I hope th 1D will even perform better! We will know when it comes back from Canon Phil. (I had it cleaned, checked and calibrated last week together with the 300mm).

Wonderful shot Bong. Amazing that your 40D was able to focus on the duck. I have great difficulty using my 40D's focusing when it comes to flight shots.... It could be because of my 2x TC - HEhEHehEHheHEe should try it without the 2x TC ;D Just like Ding, loved your BCNH shot at the other thread too.

Thanks Ms. Tina. I believe that the 400mm lens has a lot to do with it. With my 300mm, I'm also having some focusing problem with this kind of BG.

Ahhhhh okay. Have never tried using my 400mm with the 40D since my 300mm is permanently attached to the 40D along with the 2x TC. Will try it one of these days
