The Pied Triller nest that's been the subject of obsession of PropJerry, Neon, and, recently, Cel and Alex now has a chick! I feel sorry for Neon who had to be in jail when this happens.

Seeing this photo made my day!! Great documentation!! Keep it coming till the baby bird fledge!! Just to compare, got this Varied Triller - Male ( Lalage leucomela rufiventris) in Darwin along the way to prison. ;D 40D + 300 mm L f4 IS + 1.4x Kenko TC (420mm), f6.3, 1/400 sec, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Hand held, RAW capture.

I'll be in the area on Wednesday morning.
This is actually news to butterflywatchers. When the eggs are hatched, notice that most trees have young shoots. The butterflies (adult) start laying eggs on these shoots for the larvae to feed. The butterfly egg takes about 4-5 days to hatch---hundreds of them per 1 laying of the adult female. Only 10% will survive, the rest are food for the bird chickitings, spiders, lizards... some die because of manslaughter---did I say man's laughter? Well, some laugh at me when I tell them that man is the worst predator. They think I have gone nuts caring for uods and higads (caterpillars). telyd

That's the day I take my family to the airport early morning then I rush to the office. Someone has to show you the "secret passage" to the roof. Also, going up the roof on a workday, you'll have to be super gentle walking or you'll end up clattering the corrugated GI on the rooms below. Raining today. Wonder how the little family's doing.

I think it would be difficult for TeLyds to view the nest from the roof. Here's how to view it from the roof. ;D The 3rd floor veranda should be a nice alternative, it's a lot closer but the view is a little above eye level. This is if you can squeeze through the maze, I could just barely get through. ;D

Nice timing, Ding (if I may call you so). How long did you wait for this shot? The Pied Triller nest that's been the subject of obsession of PropJerry, Neon, and, recently, Cel and Alex now has a chick! I feel sorry for Neon who had to be in jail when this happens.

But stand on a chair...like crazy Neon, no, I'm no cuckoo yet. I decided to just butterfly watch. Is the Bignay tree fruiting in Vargas Museum? I'm meeting someone at the Cordillera coffee shop in the morning of WED. Aah people, you have no cure! telyd
