I got this last Sunday in UPLB. A few minutes after I got this, I got a photo of what seems to be a Bicolored Flowerpecker (photo to follow later). Thank you. 40D, 400/5.6, ISO 1000, f/5.6, 1/200 sec, manual exposure, handheld

LOL, Edu. TeLyds: Not really sure, but I think it's not a Gerygone (I hope so ;D). The tail seems shorter and the its body is chunkier compared to that of a Gerygone.

Edu was giving you a big hint. Note the medium-length, finely-pointed bill with a blue-grey base, and the indistinct supercilium. On your bird it is barely visible but there is a pale yellowish line that goes from the bill up over the eye. Buzzing Flowerpecker has a longer bill without the basal colour and may have a grey patch on the lore, but not a stripe. One of the best ways to identify it is from the call of 2 pebbles being struck together and of course the tiny size, but that is hard from a photo. There may be other photographic features that I have yet to learn.

So it's a Pygmy Flowerpecker?

Thanks, Des. I ask the same question as Alain is asking.
