Together with Tateo and Doc Louie, yours truly went to Jugan and we were surprised to see that 5 Pond Herons were there! We have not seen these birds for almost 2 years now, so imagine how hard we tried to capture their images even though they were quite a distance away. I pulled out both my 1.4X TC's and stacked them on my trusty EF-400mm using the 60D body and got these heavily cropped photos to share with you all: Javan Pond Heron (Ardeola speciosa) Exposure: 0.033 sec (1/30); Effective Aperture f/11 Focal Length: Effective FL 784 mm; ISO 400; Exposure Bias +2/3 EV Doc Louie and Osawa may have more photos to share with you as well. We plan to go back there soon and catch them nearer the pond's edge for better details. Thnaks for dropping by! Bobby K.

Wonderful captures Bob. Love the low angle, eye contact and the colors are very nice.

Hi Sir Bobby. May I also share this Lifer of mine, which was also in the same pond with the Javan Herons. Enjoy everyone and thanks for viewing. Little Heron Nikon D300s, ISO 200, 500mm, F/6.3, 1/50 sec,+2/3 EV Gimbal support [/url]

Nice find and captures, Bobby and Doc Lui. I'm sure you're all excited to get a closer shot of the Javan. Good luck.

Nicely captured, Bob. There were lots of them in Candaba last January.
