Finally after more than 2 years of prodding by Atelyds to go to BK Valley in Dolores, Quezon I relented. The place is one bird haven but the shooting condition was challenging due to the mix lighting conditions. One of the highlight of this trip was, another lifer was added to my list after chasing this bird in different places for several years. Bicolored Flowerpecker - Male ( Dicaeum bicolor) Endemic - Bangkong Kahoy Valley, Dolores, Quezon, June 4, 2011 5DM2 + 600 f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC, f4.5, 1/200, ISO 250, Tv priority + 2/3 EV, Tripod-Gimbal support, Under available light. Female+ 4/3 EV

Whoa. All the time I thought it was an immature red keeled and the female, an immature OBS. When I am with guys with long "macro" lens, I stop shooting. I tell myself, why bother, someone's already doing the fantastic job, I just need to go goo-goo eyes looking at them here in PBP. It was a good decision to go. The sun smiling from the day we arrive till we left, not so hot. Except for the fire that gutted the VE Main Pavilion today during a stop over lunch with Mela (she was blazing cool and was so comic about the whole scenario and even managed to send us off amidst rushing fire trucks). Thanks Neon for the ride. I'm sure Yanna had a great time, too. And thank you most especially to Ramon for making birding in BK Valley much easier. :Dlyd

Thanks Adri, Ate Lyds, Doc Boy, Ramon, Den and Edu! We were lucky to have 2 clear days of birding, oh night as well but haven't perfected my night technique yet. 2 days is not enough for BK Valley the amount of places you need to be to wait are plentiful, I guess 1 week would not be enough for me. Much thanks to Dion for showing us around. @ Ate Lyds, I surely had a great time, as always it is short and it has to end. Sad to witness one of the big structure of VE burn to the ground, and glad no one was hurt and there was no panic even when the fire was out of control. Hope the recuperate in no time. @ Ramon, I was hoping you would come early back to BK so that I could meet you personally and thank you for letting us use your balcony. I could stay in that place for hours and the birds would just come in droves. Hope to see you one of this days when schedules permits. @ Edu, you are right, "if it moves, don't think, just shoot and ask questions later".
