Hello everyone. I was invited to be a guest of the University of Saint La Salle, Bacolod last week. I had a really great time with all the food and also hooking up with Doc Boy Mac. Sunday was spent at Mambukal for some birding, Doc Boy caught up with me and here are the photos I was able to take. There was a resident Spotted Wood Kingfisher. It was not on a natural perch but hey.. I take what nature gives And a lifer for me.. A Mangrove Blue Flycatcher there were lots of other birds that I saw but were not able to photograph like the Philippine Coucal, Black Naped Monarch, Crimson Sunbird, Elegant Tit, Philippine Bulbul, Common and Collared Kingfishers. But my prize of the trip was the Visayan Flowerpecker/Black-belted Flowerpecker (Dicaeum haematostictum)all images were taken with a Nikon D90, Nikon 80-400VR at 400mm and f5.6, ISO1600, 1/60, handheld. Thank you for taking the time to look, I greatly enjoyed the trip, and am now enjoying sharing the experience. Edu

Your Welcome Edu...
The King of the " SIGN " is sharp with VR-on and the 3rd pose of the VFP is excellent. As I mentioned you will be rewarded after the " FLOW " event.
@ Tonji ... VFP is around 15 feet away only.

Thank you for the kind words Tonji. Mambukal is a great place to stretch your skills. No easy targets there but they are there.
If you will go, PM me and I will send you what I think would be a good plan, and Doc Boy will agree.

nice set edu! love the spotted wood, btw, the spotted wood in negros is from a different race (moseleyi) from the ones here in luzon. congrats! I already have SWKF photos (from UPD) so this bird was not really high on my hitlist as I thought it would not be a lifer. But it was on my list as my old photos were taken by my old Sigma lens, no pic of it taken with my Nikon lens (semi-lifer kumbaga hehe) But now that you have mentioned this fact, it just made this photo a Photo Lifer and.. the search for the Luzon kind (to take a pic of it using my Nikon lens) has started again.. hehehe
