Hi Lawrence.
My guess is that the second picture is a Yellow-bellied Sunbird Nectarinia venusta. I think it is also called a Variable Sunbird.

Hi Tonji, thanks for the ID, how about the 1st bird do you have an idea? been looking at west African Sunbird for reference photo but I cant seems to make a match.

Hi Lawrence, I have never been to Africa and am just reading a Field Guide to Birds of West Africa. Its best to let the experts decide if it is really Nectarinia venusta. I cannot tell the species of the young first bird. Good luck!

Female sunbirds can be very tricky to identify, and I would hesitate to try and put a name to the first bird. The second does look like venusta, a male coming into adult plumage would be my assessment.
