This species was a lifer for us. It was one of the most interesting birds in our trip to Tubbataha. There were a lot of young birds, aged around a month or so. They were being watched by a small group of very vocal adults. Most of the other adults were out looking for food. They left a small group of nanny adults to take care of the youngsters. The young birds were usually hiding under the bushes. At night we could hear the young birds calling out. I assume it was for their parents. Truly a bird paradise. Its a chance of a lifetime to see a place like that. It will surely be a tourist paradise if they open it for birdwatchers.

Super photos, Wow! Those immature birds in the third photo look like they were just patiently standing there waiting for their parents. So unlike most kids. Thanks for sharing your Tubbataha photos.

Ely, they sent us to Tubbataha to take pictures and to find out if it is possible to have a bird tour. I think it can happen.
Thanks Rey, that bird was telling the young birds what to do. The young birds started to fly and I think this bird was telling them to stay put. It was behaving like an angry nanny.
Thanks Ramon!
Tina you would love it for sure. Since your bags are packed you have a head start!
Thanks Butch. It was watching the interaction and behavior that made Tubbataha a great experience. Super cool.
