I took this photo of this bird that was some distance away from my front deck. I believe it is a flycatcher because it flew like one (from its perch, it flew to catch a flying insect and then returned to its perch). Can someone please identify it? Thanks.

Looks more like a flowerpecker to me. Can't tell which one yet. Maybe a buzzing flowepecker?

Agree with Tina that the overall characteristic (bill shape, short tail, etc) appears to be a flowerpecker, a Buzzing at that. Flowerpeckers do catch insect to supplement their protein need. I agree with the team: Buzzing flowerpecker. Note the eye-ring and the very plain plumage with no markings on the eyebrow or throat. Different subspecies are more or less olive, with more or less contrast between upperparts and underparts.
