Cynthia and I spent a couple of days at BK Valley. We didn't do much birding yesterday since we arrived quite late already but we had lots of fun with Tina, Tonji and Sylvia, Carmela, Ixi and Mikeli. This morning as Ramon said, we had a furious 15 minute photography session at his balcony. Later that we had a more leisurely time until it was interrupted by a sudden and heavy downpour. Our deepest thanks to Ramon and to BK Valley owner Dion for their hospitality and help in directing us to where the birds were. That's the best shot yet of a Citrine Canary Flycatcher that I have seen! And a beautiful photo of the Sulfur-Billed Nuthatch, one of my favorite birds.
I think the Brush Cuckoo may be a juvenile, because it was smaller than the Brush Cuckoos I have seen in BK. Funny how it flew to the branch in front of us just 15 feet away, and we never noticed it as we were chatting away.
Good birding with you and Cynthia yesterday.

I am happy that you spent a couple of days in BK. I guess a day trip is toooo short to bird and to enjoy the place. Those are beautiful captures Bob. I like all. lyd

Thanks, everyone for your nice comments. Lyds, it was indeed very nice to stay overnight at BK Valley. Too bad we didn't see the owls (we heard at least two diferrent owls calling). And I bungled the shot of the Red-crested Malkoha. But all in all we had fun and even got 4 lifers.

Great shots! And at ISO 2000, we can see how dark the conditions were. My fave is the nuthatch.
