hello, everyone!
i'm mark jason argallon from quezon city. i'm so inspired by what i see here in the board. i'm just a hobbyist. i started taking pictures of flowers and bugs in my mom's garden. then i got interested with birds. my gear is an entry level nikon d5000 and i use nikkor af 70-300mm that doesn't auto-focus in my camera body, which makes it more difficult and challenging to shoot birds.
i decided just a few weeks ago to buy a sigma 150-500mm and i'm basically more satisfied with my shots. i'm excited to learn from more experienced photographers here. thanks to sir romy for creating this one!

It's good to see you here, Mark. I look forward to your seeing your bird photos taken with your 500mm. Save the 300mm for chasing butterflies! telyds

Welcome Mark! There is a different sense of personal satisfaction if you can get good results given the limitations of your equipment.
Try searching for Ding Carpio's photos in this forum...he took some photos of flying birds in manual focus mode i think. I think JV is also one of those who ventured into this.
