I've been trying for quite a long time to get this bird in flight with a non-sky background. I finally caught it this morning, courtesy of the fastest handheld BIF combo on the planet. ;D ;D ;D Yellow-vented Bulbul ( Pycnonotus goiavier, resident) Shooting Info - Paranaque City, Philippines, May 2, 2011, 1D4 + 400 5.6L, 1/1600 sec, f/7.1, ISO 400, manual exposure in available light, hand held (for both photos).

I guess when you have so many birds in the bag you would go for a new challenge. Did you ever feel that there is nothing that you can not do? Your skill and reflexes makes you the best Filipino Bird Photographer. Look at the blur of the wings fluttering at 1/1600 sec. That means its speed must be around the speed of a hummingbird where you need 1/2000 of a second to get it frozen. That bird flies fast and takes super skill to get it nailed. Well done Romy & Mabuhay.

Thanks everyone for looking and the comments! I can't wait to see the video of your avatar! when is it coming out? Or it was posted already and I just missed it? This was an old video which I posted way back, partner. Here's reposting it for you. ;D _________________ HD video of a Collared Kingfisher ( Todiramphus chloris) buzzing a Whimbrel ( Numenius phaeopus) while the latter is foraging on a dried-up pond. Filmed in-habitat at San Juan, Batangas, Philippines, on April 16, 2010, using a Canon 7D + 400 2.8 IS + stacked Canon 2x/1.4x TCs. Music - Epic Battle by Marc Teichert.

Thanks, Ka Mastah, for posting this video again, I think I saw it before, now that it's more than a year ago, I'll never tire of watching it as it's a spectacle to watch it over and over.
