The Cebu-based birdnuts visited the "Simply Butterflies" place in Bilar Bohol over the weekend, and we had some success. Here's one: Silvery Kingfisher (Alcedo argentata argentata) Canon EOS 60D; Tv 0.125 sec (1/8); Aperture f/7.1; FL 400 mm + 2 pcs. Kenko 1.4X Stacked; ISO 800; Bias 0 EV; Tripod, Live View: Thanks for looking! BobbyK.

Hi, ho Silver. That is what I call a Silvery Kingfisher. You see the glisten. I'm sure it was like Christmas on Easter month. You are always lucky with this bird, Bob. I remember the first time we were at Cristy's and we had to drive and walk all the may to Joe Travero's farm with Felix and the silvery was the prize late in the afternoon - no glimmer. This time, the good finds are in Cristy's Simply Paradise. Oh, I remember how she started. That fiesty woman. She has arrived. telyds

Excellent! It wasn't many years ago that the Bohol subspecies was almost unknown to birdwatchers

Wow, excellent IQ even with a 2x stacked 1.4x TC, Bobby! a little adjustment on the contrast PP would have been perfect on my on software calibrated monitor.

Thanks Renoir, Ka Ely, and 'TEe Lyd's! Wow, excellent IQ even with a 2x stacked 1.4x TC, Bobby! a little adjustment on the contrast PP would have been perfect on my on software calibrated monitor. I've gone as far as I dared to go with the contrast on this one my friend. Maybe my Spyder profile needs to be re-calibrated again. Thanks for the comment! :-) BobbyK

Great photo of a great bird. I have a TC and seldom use it. With the quality of photo you are getting, you inspired me to use it. Cheers
