When I was in Singapore last month I was able to take a number of shots of a tailorbird and its young one that was still being fed. This one of the young bird didn't turn out too bad. I think it was a young 'common tailorbird'. Exposure info: Panasonic DMC-FZ18, F4.2, 504mm equivalent, 1/250s, 800 iso

Thanks all for your comments. The birds in Singapore Botanic Gardens seem somewhat accustomed to people, so one can get closer than usual. This one, being young seemed especially tame. By staying very still or slow moving I was able to get within about four feet of it at times!

Tailorbirds are normally well hidden among the foliage and hardly stops long enough for one to get a good shot. Your picture proves otherwise as it looks like it pose for you with a cheerful glint on its eye. Well done Brian & Mabuhay.

Thanks Kuya Ely. This bird was indeed moving a lot. It never stayed on a perch long enough for more than one shot, and often not long enough for that! It stayed in the same area for a while though so I had many chances.
