Thank you Sir Romy for your prompt and very informative response. I took this photo last Sunday when I went birding with the Macasiano couple at a water reservoir here in Cebu. This bird came out and was very active hopping from one grass to another during the golden light period. I guess the notes under your photo seems to fit and further confirms the identity of this bird. Your photo is AWESOME!

Looks like a Tawny Grassbird, Megalurus timoriensis to me. The streaks on the back gave me a reason to rule out CRW but I'll have to check the references to validate my initial ID.

On closer look, I stand corrected and I agree with Nilo - the streaks at the back nails it for Tawny indeed. Tawny Grassbird An old photo showing the back of the CRW:

Thank you Sir Nilo for your ID input. Now, I'm back to Warbler vs Grassbird. Could this also be the Streaked Reed Warbler with photo seen in page 112 of Tim Fisher's book ?

Doc LuiCo, Based on few images and literature on SRW: The streaked crown should have the prominent black lateral crown stripe over broad creamy-buff supercilium which is noticeably absent in the bird in question.

Hi Sir Nilo. Thank you again for the help to ID this bird. I'm glad I have found a lifer at Jaclupan. Doc Boy, Mares and I went to Buhisan also last Sunday and we're all excited we have found new birding places here in Cebu. Wish we could have birding sortie there for the Forest Birds. Cheers!
@ Sir Romy: Your amazing photo has nailed the detailed features of the bird in question. Your effort is very much appreciated. Thank you Sir Romy.
