Still no birding for me so I'm back to the HD. I got this shot with Bong and Doc Mando in Candaba last January. The colorful beauty was fanning out its tail as it tried to keep its balance on the swaying perch, while the three birdnuts took cover behind the Great Wall of Candaba firing shots, not minding the showers. Hope you like it. Blue-tailed Bee-eater ( Merops philippinus) Candaba, Pampanga, 9 Jan 2011 40D, 400/5.6 L, ISO 400, f/5.6, 1/160 sec, manual exposure, handheld (leaning on the Great Wall of Candaba), cropped, +0.5 EV in conversion

Thanks a lot, Ely and Eric. It was fun watching (and shooting) this bird try to keep itself on the perch.

Very nice bee-eater photo ,Sir Mark. The raindrops hitting the forehead depicts the instability of the perch. Bravo!
