Pogito and I visited Candaba this afternoon (ran into Martin, JP and Allan). I took this with my camera phone so the quality is not very good, I guess I've to start saving for a proper videocam. ;D

Nice bonding. Father and son. Man and nature. If Pogito was present in Morong Thursday afternoon, oh boy, there'd be 3 kids playing rat-tat-tat-tat. That would be some spectacle I'd like to shoot. I look forward to hearing those shutters, side by side with Master Pogi. Grandma Lyd

Nice one Romy and Pogi!
Romy there are age brackets for the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year - 10yrs and under, 11-14 and 15-17. I saw the travelling exhibition this year and the entries from the young ones were excellent. Perhaps we are seeing a future entrant.

Oh my gosh, video brought tears to my eyes.... father and son bonding... I could just feel the pride swelling in Romy's chest as he was advising and watching Pogito. Well done Romy and Nimfa, he is not only talented, but also a sweet, polite and respectful boy. Bravo Ocon family! ix!

Thanks folks for the comments. Pogito is off to his cousin to play for the day, he'll probably start processing his 5 GB of BIFs tomorrow. ;D The nestling took a liking on the 1DM2 so I was forced to settle for the 40D for most of the day. I removed the 1.4x TC from the 500 f4 IS to speed up AF. Here's a couple of my captures ( I've to specify these are mine ;D), both with the 40D + 500 f4 IS, 475B/3421 support : 1. Purple Heron ( Ardea purpurea) 2. Black-crowned Night-Heron ( Nycticorax nycticorax, immature)

What!!? You're proud of those shots, Romy? I know an eleven-year-old who can shoot just as good! Must be one of those few times when you feel good being measured as the lesser, eh? I know, whenever my son beats me in chess, they're the only times I feel great losing. Ahhh, fatherhood. That's what it's really all about: wanting to get surpassed.
