This is a close encounter with a breeding pair of Red Turtle Doves in Candaba. The opportunity to photograph birds at very close distances doesn't come very often so I really enjoyed this chance to create full frame images of these doves last Sunday. The birds just stayed in front of my car and were doing very interesting poses. They were sunbathing exposing the insides of their feathers which I thought were quite photogenic. :-) Red Turtle Doves (Streptopelia tranquebarica), Candaba Wetlands, February 4, 2011 50D + EF500 + 1.4X TC, f8.0, 1/160 sec, ISO 400, Manual Exposure, Handheld

My fav is the last photo Rey. Just like any other birds..RTDs are also into sun/sand bathing to dislodge parasites and you captured it well.

I have just realized that the male turtle dove is redder than the female one. i haven't noticed that before. Great shots, Rey!
