Bong, Doc Mando, and I were on our way home from a sortie marred by overcast skies when we saw these sandpipers on the ponds beside the roads. Wished for a better light, lower angle, and more colors! I kinda like the mud in the background though as it adds dimensionality. Wood Sandpiper ( Tringa glareola) Candaba, Pampanga, 9 Jan 2011 40D, 400/5.6, ISO 320, f/5.6, 1/640 sec, manual exposure, car window support, cropped, NR on BG, cloned out a few twigs in the water C&C welcome and appreciated.

Very nice Mark, the subtle colors are very pleasing with the spot on exposure but this may be a bit oversharpened, I can see some sharpening artifacts in my monitor.

Thanks for the comments, Rey. Will check this again... I must have pushed the sliders a little too much.

I like birds. Any kind of birds. But if you were to put them on a totem pole, I guess the water birds that are not colorful would be on the bottom. Knowing how difficult it is to find birds on certain days, I guess this is better than nothing. Hopefully we find some nice place with some nice birds soon. Let us keep on trying.
