Here is my shot of the Collared Kingfisher that Gabs mentioned in his post. I am a bit reluctant to post it because there are aspects that I don't really like. 1) The yellow plant behind the bird is quite distracting, 2) a straight blurred branch "connects" to the praying mantis and 3) the tips of the beak are also blurred. So I'll just consider this a "documentary" shot of the kingfisher tossing its prey before swallowing it. ;D Canon 40D, 300mm+1.4X, ISO-400, f6.3, 1/320 taken from car window.

Beautiful dynamic capture bro, love the toss with the very clear details of the prey.

I know what you mean. We always want a better picture. But having this picture is better than having none at all. Perfect timing, probably one in a million. I will take it anytime. Well done Bob. Mabuhay.

Hi, Fred! Yes, I got the rhabdornis shot but it was way too far for a good image. Are the pratincoles back?

Great timing on this shot, Bob.
Looks like prayers won't save this unfortunate mantis. ;D
