Wow! sharp and on a nice perch, Edu. Just one comment, what happened to the color? Is this the new trend now? (Please refer to the BSP bills). Looks like a green cast on my uncalibrated monitor. Looks like you used the white balance dropper in ACR even if there is no true white in your photo, I'm just guessing. Better to use the temp and tint slider to get the correct color. Don't know the way how to do it if you are color challenged?

The Emerald Dove is a consolation in lieu of the NFSH which has moved to a higher elevation. Thank you for saving me a trip that would certainly have been disappointing. I like to think positive that there is always a next time. Cheers & Mabuhay Edu.

Nice shot, congrats on the lifer Edu! Can't comment on the cast, as I'm color challenged. But it's really tough to get the WB of this shot right. Overcast sunlight (very flat and quite dim) was filtering through the canopy of green foliage before it reaches the bird. Nimfa and Pogito had to deliberate on the WB of my version, and they setlled on the compromise below. This was taken while I was standing near Edu. Common Emerald-Dove ( Chalcophaps indica) Shooting info - 1D4 + 500 f4 IS + 1.4x TC, 700 mm, f/5.6, ISO 1600, 1/100 sec, manual exposure, 3421/A-328 support

Great shot as always, Ka Mastah! Yes, I had a tough time with the white balance on my shot too. Not much of a problem though as I was using a flash on my take. I was shooting the BS when they (Ka Mastah and Edu) were shooting this same bird. I only got to know that they got a lifer when they called me to have lunch. I thought I lost a good opportunity to get a good shot of the bird again, until we called it a day when the bird did a flyby just meters from us an landed on the trail. Kamastah and Edu had stowed their gears already while, I normally pack my gears just outside my car, I'm still ready for action. The bird was flushed by the park goers and it flew on an open branch just a few meters from where we are standing. Here is what I got: 5DM2 + 600 mm f4 IS + 2x Kenko TC + 580EX II, f 4.5 (f 9.0), 1/15 sec, ISO 1600, manual exposure, Tripod-Gimbal support.

All excellent shots, but I must say Neon's use of flash did help to bring out more contrast and color saturation from the scene. :-)
