Went to the hottest spot in town!-and with a bunch of bird photogs- Docmando, Bong, Neon and Aphine, Bob and Cynthia, Bert, and Mark, were treated to two quick streaking episodes, about 3 minutes each of the nakedfaced SH over a span of 4 1/2 hours. Yes! 3 lifers in a week! True its call is quite distinctive as mentioned in the KG. Naked-faced Spiderhunter (Aracnothera longirostra), Quezon City, December 19, 2010. Panasonic Lumix GF1, Canon FD 300mm 2.8L 1.4 Canon TC, 420mm f4, 1/400 iso 500 on tripod with gimbal head, available light Thanks for viewing Chito

Thanks Edu! for the comment and for the tip on the bird and its location. Here is another pic, of the pair of NFSH we saw this AM, together in a single shot- not really sure which is the immature. Lumix GF1 canon FD 300 2.8L 1.4 TC iso 500 1/250 f4 on tripod with gimbal head. Chito

Doc Chito, your shots are quite dynamic in the most challenging lighting. Congrats in the 2 birds in 1 frame.

Oooh! Been lurking and drooling for sometime now. Fantastic shots!
Looks like I'm the only one that hasn't shot this beauty yet. And it's right in my own backyard!

You were there on time. I heard that since the Heliconia has dried up, the bird does not go there anymore. I missed my chance. You were able to get two of them at the same time. Well done Chito. Mabuhay.

The good news, Ely and Ding, is that it is still there, as the excellent capture by doc William shows.
