First of all, thank you Edu for telling us where to go! And second, thank you Tonji for lending me your rig! I left my camera at home, on my bedside table! Tonji let me swap cf cards and use his rig so I could also get some photo lifers. I'm really happy we decided to go to and look at Edu's latest discovery, the Naked Faced Spiderhunter. It was well worth the very long drive, the guards who wouldn't let us go in without first signing a waiver, and the hordes of very, very noisy people having a Christmas party and just hanging around in the area. There were 600 people there that day! There were two Spiderhunters and they were very cooperative. They kept returning to the same area again and again. I hope this is because they feel safe in the area and people don't harass or bother them. 1/100, 5.6, iso 400 Showing the naked ear hole 1/160, 5.6, iso400 Canon 5dMarkII, 500 mm, 1.4x, gimbal, tripod

Wow Sylvia, excellent details. I love the eye contact on the first photo. The details of the pollen grains on the bill were emphasized in the shallow DOF...
