Went to the Black Crowned Heron colony and saw empty trees They must have migrated. Will take notes then see when they come back. But I did see a huge flock of Black-headed Gulls this is about half of the flock BIF Nikon D90, 0.001 sec (1/1000), f/5.6 @ 400 mm, ISO 200, Handheld This one ran out of bamboo poles to perch on and I had a great time laughing at it while it tried to keep balance on a net Nikon D90, 0.002 sec (1/640), f/8.0 @ 400 mm, ISO 200 Handheld as Bamboo pole perches were at a shortage because of their numbers (I counted over fifty), they would sometimes fight over a perch Nikon D90, 0.001 sec (1/800), f/8.0 @ 400 mm, ISO200, Handheld so whenever there is a vacant spot.. for sure one of them will land on it.. Nikon D90, 0.001 sec (1/800), f/8.0 @ 400 mm, ISO200, Handheld Thanks for looking guys!

please forgive me for posting another BIF as my lens has a really slow motor and whenever I can do BIFs with it and get a good shot, I keep it. Camera Nikon D90 Exposure 0.002 sec (1/640) Aperture f/8.0 Focal Length 400 mm ISO Speed 200 Handheld

Wow Black-headed Gull indeed. This is an uncommon migrant Edu and not easy to find. I think I'll be visiting Edu's wetland very soon. Great captures by the way Edu, they look very near.

thank you Ed. Nice name by the way.. And when you find them, the starkly contrasting colors make it a challenge to expose properly. Please do visit soon as these might just be stopping over for a meal.

Is this the same Villa Lorenzo that we go to? I thought the BCNH were always there and how come there are nets and bamboos. This must be another place. Your BIF pictures are very interesting and its a telling a story as well. I saw thousands of the Black Headed Sea Gull in Bangpu. Its good we have them here too. Well done Edu. Mabuhay.

Thank you for the compliments, Sir Ely. This is a different location, about 2 kilometers from the BCNH Colony.
The colony has 0 residents now, only reason I can think of is that they migrated somewhere else.

Thank you, Doc. I hope they stay a little longer. Partner, thank you for the kind words. There were also birdnuts elbowing for position on the small hut where we shot a few more shots yesterday. If the gulls stay, I will tell you.
