It flies and eats like a sunbird but it is about 3x the size. Size is obvious based on the flower. ID please? I can't seem to be able to get it.

thank you, Enrique. It was a combination of luck and the things I have learned from other birdnuts. Luck - I was invited to join a prenup Learnings - when I saw the venue, and saw the flowers I backtracked on the morning. Sunbirds feed on nectar from these flowers at about 10am or an hour after the sun has heated up the nectar enough to be sipped. So I waited a bit and got this huge surprise.

Thanks everyone. It was really, as I said, a stroke of luck.
I think "they" are still there or living there as I saw a pair, hopefully male and female.

Whoa! Big congrats on this, Edu! Really big big catch! Now, don't you realize how much birding and birds have you missed when you were too busy working? Tell that to Toto now, Edu!

Thank you Alain. Actually engrossing ones self in work heightens the suspense and gives me more facilities to go birding (transportation allowance) Toto is still busy but he promises not to forget us even if he becomes a multinational CEO.
