Went to Candaba today but the geese either didn't show up or I just could not spot them. But I got me this consolation prize.. Camera Nikon D90 Exposure 0.002 sec (1/640) Aperture f/8.0 Focal Length 400 mm ISO Speed 200 handheld Tried out what I learned from the Mastah last Christmas Party. I hope I did right with my uncalibrated laptop display. C&C is encouraged. Thanks in advance!

Good looking Blue-tailed Bee-eater. Unless the goose flies it is hard to see them as they are really far far away. Mabuhay.

Thank you, Sir Clemm and Sir Ely.
Actually the real consolation was the company. I was with Pao and his friend Richard. Also, I haven't birded in quite a while and the Candaba trip was a real treat. It was overcast, not too warm and at times the clouds would partially hide the sun's heat. And the whole time there was a gentle cool breeze that made the experience so wonderful!
Another prize was that I got 3G signal there so while waiting.. I was facebooking on my phone. hahaha!

Great shots, Edu! The first one is a winner! Though the ripples in the second is value-added!

I like your immature Grebe photo Edu. Candaba is a good place for this little divers.

The Bee-eater is wonderful, Edu! Good details on the major crop Grebe, too. If anything, would be interested to see the bee-eater in vertical (with more room at the top and bottom) crop, although I like the inclusion of environment here. Perhaps you can also crop a little tighter on the Grebe to remove the topmost dark ripple which is somewhat distracting.

Thanks, Ariel. Mark, thanks for the inputs. I can't crop wider on the bee-eater as this is almost at full frame I got to sneak up on it but with the wind blowing and the bird+branch swinging back and forth towards and away from me, it was like shooting BIF haha. I agree on the tighter crop for the grebe. Will try it out.
