This was at Mt. Kitanglad. This bird was calling very loudly from the trees, yet it was still difficult to spot. It has the type of loud, persistent call that can drive you mad if you are unable to see it! For some reason, I had a tough time getting a sharp shot of this bird. Either the busy background made it hard for the auto-focus to work or there was something wrong with my set-up. I am sure that it was a relief to find something that you could only hear. For the effort you were well rewarded with these fine captures. Well done Sylvia. Mabuhay.

This is a prized capture then, if it was hard to spot at first.. but then, you captured it very well! Your persistence really paid-off! Congratulations!

I can feel the excitement when you finally got the photos Sylvia. Sometimes you can hear the loud calls the whole day without seeing this bird... congratulations
